For Forever

A.N. Another song without music…:.( I’ll try for some chords. It has a bit of a melody in my head. But feel free to experiment, if you feel so inclined. :.D

So you want to stay forever

So you say that I’m the one

I thought I’d love you for forever

But now I see that I was wrong

Don’t want to have to put up with it

Don’t want to sing another break-up song

But, darling, if you walk away now

Oh, darling, don’t you walk away now

 –

Oh, I could love you forever

But I can’t, it’s wrong, I know

But that won’t stop my heart from loving

I’ll fall apart if you go

But I won’t come with you

I just have to stay strong

But I can’t stop my heart from loving

Even though it feels so wrong

 –

Please don’t tell me it’s forever

I don’t want to be the reason that you stay

You won’t love me for forever

I’m just another game you want to play

But I’ll wait up all night for you

I’ll be waiting by the phone to hear your voice

You’ll say you’ll love me for forever

Oh, but, darling, you don’t leave me any choice

 –

Oh, I could love you for forever

But I can’t, it’s wrong, I know

But that won’t stop me from believing

I know I’ll far apart when you go

But I’ll stay behind

I know that you’re no good

But, darling, you know it hurts

Much more than it should

 –

I’d love you for forever, if I didn’t know better

I can’t acquiesce, but my heart is saying yes!

 –

Oh, oh, oh

 –

Oh, I could love you for forever

But I can’t, it’s wrong, I know

But that won’t stop my heart from loving

I’ll fall apart if you go

But I won’t come with you

I just have to stay strong

But I can’t stop my heart from loving

Even though it feels so wrong

 –

It’s so wrong

When you’re gone

But I’ll move on

I have to move on

King with a Ring

Yay, a song!!!! The bridge could be seen as a third verse, I suppose.

Hopefully the formatting comes out well.

I never thought I’d find the one

Who’d rip my heart out just for fun

But we live on to hide the shame

You hold my hand, I hold my pain

And I’ll wear a mask, while you wear a crown

I’ll bite my cheek, form a smile from a frown

But you’ll carry on, you’ll feel so alive!

While I’m rotting here, dying on the inside

You never thought I could be hurt

Or you just didn’t care — I don’t know which is worse

With so many faces, you sometimes forget

Which one you are showing, and which I should get

But I’ll wear a mask, while you wear your crown

And I’ll cry my tears without making a sound

Their prying eyes won’t see the betrayal I know

And that’s how the rest of my story will go

I’d leave in a heartbeat, if the shame weren’t so great

But my family’s honour is tied to the stake

So I’ll grit my teeth, and I’ll bite my tongue

And stay by your side, just like I belong

But I’ll wear a mask, and you’ll wear a crown

And I’ll bite my cheek, keep my lips from a frown

While you carry on, I’ll whisper your name

Cursing the day when I took the same

Beneath my mask, I’ll never forgive

The lies that you told, the damage you did

Your deception is cutting, your escapades sting

But I cannot leave because I’m wearing your ring

Turned to Stone

A.N. Changing seasons are so inspiring…

You turned my heart to stone

The day you walked away

I’ll always be alone

No other love will stay

I blame my trusting heart

The signs I should have known

But you won’t break my heart again

Because it’s turned to stone

The autumn wind cuts through my shirt

And madness haunts my brain

The dusky sky is full of hurt

My guilt leaves me in shame

I’ve never gone so long without
Your hand caressing mine

But now it’s dawn, and you are gone

And everything here feels so wrong

You turned my heart to stone

The day you said goodbye

You left me all alone

The day you made me cry

I blame my trusting heart

I’ve found itself alone

And now my trusting heart

Has slowly turned to stone

They say the pain gets better

With every passing day

But I know that these fetters

Will never go away

The pain that binds me to you

Is strong when I’m alone

But I can turn away from it

Because my heart’s turned to stone

The days are shorter, and longer too

These days when I’m here without you

But I don’t really feel alone

Because my heart has turned to stone

You turned my heart to stone

The day you walked away

I’ll always be alone

No other love will stay

I blame my trusting heart

The signs I should have known

But you won’t break my heart again

Because it’s turned to stone

Garden of Broken Hearts

A.N. So many song-poems like this…I’m starting to sound like Taylor Swift. 0.0

Every night we walked together
Beneath the stars and pale moonlight
You kissed me and said, “I’ll always love you”
I should have known that was a lie

You left me behind the fountain
You left me with open arms
I love you, but now I’m broken
I walk alone beneath the stars

Every night, you’d turn the lights off
Sing a song, and say good-night
I loved you, but now you’ve left me
Shrouded in eternal night

You left me between the roses
You left me still wrapped in starlight
Your memory will haunt my days
Your absence kills me every night

I love you, but you don’t love me
We were one, but then you left
Stole my mind, and stole my heartbeat
My whole life is now bereft

I loved you, inside our garden
I love you, and that’s the truth
You’re long gone, and though it hurts,
I can’t stop me from loving you

Ring

A.N. Why, oh why can’t I put some of this to music? ;.(

And WordPress spacing is becoming verrrrrrrry annoying…

Don’t call me tonight
I won’t be not around
I’ll be out with another
A new love that I’ve found
A new life without you
So don’t ask me to stay
The love that we had
Has faded away

Don’t call me tonight
I’ll be dancing on air
I’ll be out with the owls
On a dark street somewhere
So don’t wait up for me
Because I won’t come back
The passionate flames
Have faded to black

Don’t call me tonight
There’s nobody home
You won’t find me waiting
On my sofa, alone
So don’t waste your time
Go try other things
Because if you call
My phone will just ring

Words Fade Away

You’re here in the pages of the books that I write

A presence which falls like an untimely blight

You stain all my words and you blot all the ink

With the tears that I lose every time that I think

Of what we used to have, and how we used to be

But now all I can write is how you’re not here with me

I’m here at the end of the story of us

Where the words that I wrote weren’t enough for your love

And I know, you’ll be there, I’ll be here,

And all these words will fade away…

You’re here in the chapters of books that I read

Each new page reminds me of your love’s disease

You haunt every word that I read through the day

Reminders of that time when you slipped away

And every first kiss is our last kiss goodbye

Each fairy-tale ending makes me want to cry

I’m here at the edge where our story began

A cliff — one more step, and my story will end

But you’ll move on, right along,

And all these words will fade away

Like I’ll fade away…

I’m here at the end of the story of us

All the words in the world weren’t enough for your love

So I’ll step away, slip away

And everything will fade away

And you’ll fade away…

Fairy Tale Gone Wrong

Once upon a time, I heard the story of a princess

Locked up in a tower of stone

She was beautiful and kind and dainty and polite

But she was living all alone

Waiting for a prince to sweep her off her feet

And wrap her in a sweet romance

But a princess like this just couldn’t be real

That love wouldn’t stand a chance

This life’s a fairy tale gone wrong

Can’t find an ending where I belong

Nothing turned out right

Nothing good in sight

Don’t know where I’m going when the sun goes down tonight

Once upon a time there was a pretty peasant maid

Who kissed a frog beneath the full moon

And in my dreams I see a mermaid queen

Swimming in a clear lagoon

But those are just stories, fantastic distractions

Nothing like I thought it would be

My story’s ending’s the perfect disaster

No happiness here for me

This life’s a fairy tale gone wrong

Can’t find an ending where I belong

Can’t figure it out

Nothing but doubts

Don’t know where I’m going when the lights go out

I wish I could change it all, but I know I can’t

No magic wand or words to help me enchant

I’m lost and alone in this fantasy verse

No happy ending left, just an everlasting curse

This life is a fairy-tale gone wrong

Can’t find an ending where I belong

Nothing turned out right

Nothing good in sight

Don’t know where we’re going when the sun goes down tonight

Butterfly Girl

A.N. I suppose this one could be a song, too.

One bright summer morning,

I met a butterfly girl

She popped out of a cocoon

And gave her big wings a whirl

I was blinded by colour

And love filled my heart

A love that grew stronger

Until we fell apart

She was a butterfly girl

She didn’t stick around

She left me as soon as

Her feet left the ground

She was a butterfly girl

She flew into the sun

She faded with the rain

She left faster than I could run

On that bright summer morning

When I met my butterfly girl

She told me she loved me

She was meant for my world

I gave her a garden

And I gave her my heart

But it didn’t matter

She still ripped both apart

She was a butterfly girl

She left me alone

As soon as she could

As soon as she was grown

She was a butterfly girl

She blossomed with summer

But just before winter

She left with another

She was a butterfly girl

She was never meant for me

Our fairy-tale garden

Was never meant to be

She was a butterfly girl

She’s got wings all of her own

And now, my butterfly girl

Has left me all alone

Lightning Storm

A.N. This poem is written in the form of a song’s lyrics (hence the repetition and spacing). I am not good (read: I am horrifically terrible) at writing music, otherwise I would have included a melody or some chords for you to follow.

Your love is like a lightning storm

Here, then gone, in a sudden swarm

A fit of passion, and then a lull

Leaves me drenched as the skies turn dull

The aftermath is a terrible sight

The clouds are clearing, and in the light

I see the damage you caused when we

Made sparks together, just you and me

My heart pounds fast like the thunder above

Your eyes flash bright with each word of love

But now the only thing I know that’s true

Is that I can never, ever, be with you

Each storm cloud arrives, but I don’t mind

I’m caught in the brilliance of your eyes

The light hypnotises, and the thunder replies

My heart has been blinded by all of your lies

But storms move too swiftly, and you do as well

Onto the next girl to wrap in your spell

My lingering thunder still echoes while you

Make lightning elsewhere, yes, you know what you do

My heart pounds fast like the thunder above

Your eyes flash bright with each word of love

But now the only thing I know that’s true

Is that I can never, ever, be with you

It’s not just another story, it’s a storm of my own

But, as soon as it’s dry, I’ll leave it alone,

But you’ll still move on, you’ve already flown

And the next girl who finds you will be soaked to the bone!

My heart pounds fast like the thunder above

Your eyes flash bright with each word of love

But now the only thing I know that’s true

Is that I can never, ever, be with you
